Cookies

Happy almost Halloween, friends. In honor of the upcoming holiday, I thought I’d give you a little a candy or in this case, cookies.

Today’s tech topic is Cookies. No, not like the kind you eat, unfortunately. Cookies are bits of information, or crumbs in this analogy, that are stored by your Web browser so that websites can remember things like your viewing preferences, what you left in your shopping cart, and which ads to target to you and when. Yes, that’s why they are serving you that Sephora advertisement, you left crumbs.

Still unsure? Think of Cookies like a rewards card at your favorite store. The rewards card is mutually beneficial in that the shop can build a profile around you and understand your buying behavior, while you enjoy personalized offers, discounts, and shopping experiences.

Want to revoke retail stores’ rights on the rewards card? If you read my post on Caches, you’ll remember that your Cache is like your closet, or in this case, your fridge. If you’re ready to remove your cookies, all you have to do is clean out your fridge...clear your Cache.
